Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott has recently been talking about Reds captain Jordan Henderson.
Back in the summer of 2011, Liverpool signed Henderson from Sunderland for a transfer fee of €18 million.
Since then, Henderson has scored 30 goals and registered 51 assists in 392 appearances for Liverpool.
Henderson has also gone on to captain Liverpool to the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League title.
The aforementioned figures and achievements highlight that Henderson has had a very good career.
Elliott believes that Henderson deserves more praise for what he has achieved in the game. Elliott added that Henderson is “an absolute legend”.
“I don’t think no one appreciates him as much as they should. Henderson is an absolute legend, on and off the pitch,” Elliott told the Counter Attack podcast.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
We agree with Elliott. Henderson does not get the credit that he deserves.
At Anfield Watch, we have a great appreciation for Henderson. The 30-year-old is not the best footballer that we have seen, but no one can question his commitment towards the club.
Back in 2012, Brendan Rodgers, who was the the manager of Liverpool at the time, tried to swap Henderson for Fulham’s Clint Dempsey.
Henderson opted to stay and fight for his place. Lucky Henderson stayed, otherwise he would not have won the aforementioned trophies.
