Fabrizio Romano has offered a key update on Manchester United’s rumoured move for free agent Adrien Rabiot.

Adrien Rabiot remains a free agent after his leaving Juventus at the end of the last campaign.

The French midfielder has been a constant name linked with a move to Old Trafford during Erik ten Hag’s reign with the former Paris Saint-Germain star close to becoming a Red Devil in 2022.

However, the move collapsed after a disagreement on personal terms and agent demands.

The Red Devils have just added quality to their midfield with the Deadline Day signing of Manuel Ugarte but with the futures of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro uncertain, Rabiot has once again been linked with a move to Manchester.

In recent days Eriksen had been linked with an exit to Anderlecht and Ajax but remaining at Old Trafford looks to be the most credible option at the moment for the Danish midfielder.

Fabrizio Romano denies Manchester United interest in Adrien Rabiot

Fabrizio Romano has addressed the latest rumours surrounding Rabiot and Manchester United.

Despite the window being shut the former Juventus man would be able to move because he is available as a free agent.

However, speaking on his YouTube channel Romano has been quick to dismiss the idea of Rabiot joining Ten Hag’s side.

Romano said: “Guys, I can guarantee to you that Adrien Rabiot was offered to Manchester United several times over the summer, in July, in August. But, the position of Manchester United is still very clear on that one. So they never thought of Eriksen out and Rabiot in.”
