Head coach Dino Toppmöller, Robin Koch and Junior Dina Ebimbe reflect on Eintracht’s 3-1 win over Hoffenheim.

Head coach Dino Toppmöller: “We started the game well, then went behind from a corner that wasn’t one. The players responded very well. We played much better football and our positional play was very good. The second goal set us on our way to victory, with the help of our fantastic fans. When we came out [before the game] and I saw the fans’ tifo, I had goosebumps. The lads showed hunger, alertness and focus –exactly what we want to show on the pitch. We’re very pleased with the three points. It was a successful birthday and we were able to give ourselves and our fans a birthday present.”

Robin Koch: “That was our best performance of the year so far. Everyone knows about the atmosphere here in Frankfurt. Today of all days, with the atmosphere and the tifo, we wanted to do even better. We were able to enjoy ourselves in the final minutes, but we had to be fully focused beforehand. We’re very happy with the game and the performance. The team showed what they’re capable of today.”

Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe: “We’re very happy with the win. Our plan worked and we carried it out well. Last week I had to play in a different position, so it was a bit more difficult for me. Our opponents were also very aggressive. Things were better today, and obviously our fans spurred us on. The coach said during the week that I should look to take up advanced positions when Mario’s in the right place. It was about being patient, not giving up and hurting the opposition. We did that well, we always found ourselves in space and made the most of it.”
