Hull City loanee Aaron Connolly has admitted that he’s loving life at the club so far after his arrival in January on loan.
Connolly joined Hull on loan in January after a disappointing spell in Italy with Venezia and is looking to spark life back into his career.
By his own admission, Connolly’s career has stalled in the last couple of years having experienced poor spells at Luton and Middlesbrough on loan prior to this season.
For those reasons, Hull fans could have been forgiven for not getting too carried away with the signing of Connolly. However, the Republic of Ireland international has reminded many just why he was a Premier League regular for Brighton in recent years.
Connolly produced a man-of-the-match display against QPR after scoring a brace which came after a spirited performance against Sheffield United a week earlier.
The upturn in performances could be down to how quickly the 23-year-old has settled into life in Yorkshire, as he told Hull Live: “I really enjoy coming into training every day, I really enjoy the place.
“I’m living in an apartment in Hull and I’m really enjoying being up here. It seems a very together kind of place, and I’m really enjoying it.”
Despite this, Connolly is keen not to get too carried away, as he’s all to aware of how quickly things can change in football, adding: “Listen, it’s one game and two goals. I don’t want to get carried away with one game and two goals.”
Hull’s upturn in form has pushed them further up the Championship table, as they now sit closer to the top six points-wise than they do the bottom three as Rosenior plots to mount an unlikely playoff push.

The Verdict
Connolly has been a bright spark since his arrival at the MKM Stadium in January.
Whilst many wouldn’t have been overawed with the signing, he’s showed moments of quality and certainly plenty of energy and endeavour which will hopefully allow him to build upon.
He’s also showing a maturity which hasn’t been present in recent years, which shows that he’s learning from his mistakes. He will be desperate to prove his doubters wrong and so far, he’s doing that.
If he continues on that route, there is a chance he could attract plenty of attention, not least from Hull themselves, when the window opens again at the end of the season.
