Hull City are currently the favourites to secure a deal for Burnley winger Anass Zaroury this deadline day, according to an update on X from Sacha Tavolieri.

The Belgian was a key player for Vincent Kompany last term, proving to be unplayable at times and playing his part in ensuring the Clarets sealed promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Unfortunately for him, he hasn't been heavily involved recently, making an appearance from the bench against Manchester City in the league but failing to appear in the top flight since the latter stages of November before that.

He has only made one top-tier start this term which reinforces just how little he's been involved for Kompany, although his lowlight of the campaign came right at the start of it, being sent off against Pep Guardiola's side during the Clarets' opening game of the season.

He may have had some joy in the EFL Cup, registering three assists against Salford City in a 4-0 win, but the winger has made just nine appearances in all competitions this term.

With this, there has been speculation about his future at Turf Moor, but it previously looked as though he was going to stay put beyond the end of tonight's deadline despite his lack of game time.

The Tigers have made some excellent additions this season - and they could be set to add another player to their squad.

The same journalist has also reported that the player has left Burnley this morning, potentially to seal a move to another team.

The winger has asked to leave the club, with plenty of teams interested in securing an agreement for the 23-year-old.

French outfit Lille were one team previously thought to be keen on the player, but they were priced out of a move and that could open the door to a potential loan switch for the wide player.

Hull City should push for Anass Zaroury agreement

Giles is a good wide player to have.

But he's likely to play at left-back and Zaroury would play in a more advanced role.

The Belgian is certainly an excellent player to have in the Championship and as mentioned above, he was unplayable at times last season.

Hull do need to focus on recruiting permanent players and ensure they aren't recruiting too many loanees.

But Zaroury could make a difference in the battle for the top six, so he's worth bringing in, even if he only comes in temporarily.
