Ebiowei has managed three appearances in the Premier League this season for Crystal Palace, totalling only 32 minutes from the bench. A further two outings came from the bench in the EFL Cup.

In 16 appearances for Derby County last season in the Championship, the teenager scored once and assisted twice for Wayne Rooney’s side, who suffered relegation into League One. There, he worked with current Hull boss, Liam Rosenior.

Prior to his senior breakthrough at Derby, Ebiowei was on the books with Chelsea, Arsenal and Rangers.

The Verdict

This is a really exciting coup for Hull, who are going to have to have a good transfer window this month to start pulling themselves up into mid-table.

Someone like Ebiowei has the potential to add some exciting unpredictability out wide, having shown promise with Derby last year.

The fact that rival EFL clubs were interested, too, is an added boost for the Tigers. You do wonder what role Rosenior has played here, to get us to the point where the winger is potentially just 48 hours away from signing for Hull.
