Liam Rosenior is hoping that Hull City can make Xavier Simons’ time with Hull City into a permanent move.

The Chelsea youngster is currently on loan with the Championship side but has struggled for game time.

But according to Hull Live, the Tigers are keen to make a permanent deal to keep the 19-year old beyond the season.

Rosenior is said to be very keen on the move having been impressed by the midfielder despite his relative lack of minutes.

Simons made his league debut in October against Birmingham City, coming off the bench for an eight-minute cameo.

The Chelsea man did earn a start in the side’s FA Cup loss to Fulham earlier this month, but has not featured since.

Rosenior is happy with the player’s development and is excited by the potential that he possesses.

Chelsea are still weighing up their plans for the player, and may even recall him from the MKM Stadium amid League One interest.

If that were to be the case, then Hull are prepared to work to bring Simons to the club on a permanent basis in the summer.

The Verdict

Simons hasn’t played much for Hull this season, but Rosenior obviously sees promise in the youngster.

Extracting him from Chelsea should be possible given the few days remaining in the window.

The Blues will want to gain some value for the youngster, especially to offset against the vast money being spent on their own first team, which could work against Hull.

While Rosenior is obviously keen, it’s hard to justify spending too much on a player not currently being used in the first team.
