Hull City left it late on Friday evening to announce the arrival of new signing Liam Millar.
The 24-year-old left winger joins the club on a three-year contract after departing Basel of the Swiss Super League for an undisclosed fee.
Millar was recently on loan at Preston North End, registering five goals and five assists in 36 appearances, one of which won the club’s Goal of the Season award.
He has also emerged as a go-to attacker for the Canadian national team, helping the Canucks finish fourth at Copa Améica 2024.
“I am very happy to be here. It’s been quite a long process to get the deal done,” he said on the move. “I enjoyed my time at Basel but I was ready to come back to England and continue to show people what I have.
“I have ambitions in what I want to do in my career … The most important thing was finding somewhere with the same ambitions.
“Speaking with the gaffer and people who run the club, there’s real ambition here … the style Tim plays is important for what I want.
“He likes a lot of movement, very fluid but he sees me more in my natural position as a left winger, causing trouble by going one-on-one against people and expressing myself.”
