Hugo Lloris has matched his personal record for clean sheets in a single Premier League season.
In keeping Burnley at bay in Sunday’s vital 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Hugo claimed his 15th shutout of the season – the joint-highest return he has managed in England’s top flight (he recorded 15 in both the 2016/17 and 2017/18 campaigns).
And, with one game still to be played, our number one will have the chance to go one better and break his record this Sunday as we travel to Norwich for our final game of the season.
A summer signing from Lyon in 2012 and now in his 10th season at the Club, our record Premier League appearance maker (335) became just the 16th goalkeeper in the competition’s history to record a century of clean sheets back in February as we, coincidentally, shut out Burnley at home and recorded a 4-0 win. He now has 119 shutouts to his name in the competition and sits 13th in the all-time list.
His latest clean sheet saw him move up to third in this term’s respective standings with just Liverpool’s Alisson and Manchester City’s Ederson ahead of him (both with 20). Meanwhile, he is now just the 11th goalkeeper in the history of the Premier League to record 15+ shutouts in three or more seasons.
