The report states that the 33-year-old has completed his medical and is all set to complete a free transfer to the Yorkshire club.

Vaclik arrived at Olympiacos in the summer of 2021 from La Liga club Sevilla, going on to feature 57 times for the Greek outfit in 18 months, keeping 19 clean sheets in the process.

Huddersfield have also been checking out Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Jordan Smith, as per a report from Football Insider.

The verdict

With Nicholls set to be out for the rest of the season, Vaclik is someone who can come in and provide a calming influence as the Terriers look to avoid relegation in what remains.

Losing Nicholls to injury has to be seen as a big blow for Huddersfield, however, should no complications arise, this has the potential to be an excellent move from the Yorkshire outfit.

Untested in the English game, it will be interesting to see how he fares in the Championship and whether or not he can immediately emerge as the club’s number one.

Mark Fotheringham’s side are currently three points adrift of second-tier safety and will be hoping that they can finish this window strongly to best prepare themselves for avoiding the drop.
