It will be England vs Jamaica on Sunday and here we preview the Lionesses’ final game ahead of Women’s Euro 2025 and explain which TV channel is showing the game.
Sarina Wiegman will be eager to see a positive performance from her side, six days before they kickstart their Euro 2025 campaign against France.
The Lionesses are among the favourites to win the trophy which they won for the first time in 2022.
However, they have been placed in a difficult Group D alongside France, the Netherlands, and Wales.
England’s clash with Jamaica will be the last chance for Sarina Wiegman’s squad to prove themselves ahead of the start of the tournament.
The England vs Jamaica friendly will be shown live on ITV One on Sunday, July 29th.
Sarina Wiegman’s side will face Jamaica at Leicester City’s King Power Stadium, with kick-off at 5pm BST.
ITV’s coverage will begin at 4:10pm. The broadcaster announced their pundits, presenters and commentators for Euro 2025 on Thursday, a list which included Eni Aluko but not Ian Wright.
A valid TV license is required to watch live TV in the UK.
Alternatively, England fans in the UK can livestream the game via ITVX.
To watch the game on ITV’s streaming platform, you must have an ITVX account. You will also still be required to have a valid TV license.
England’s clash with Jamaica will be their final preparation ahead of the start of Women’s Euro 2025.
The Lionesses go into the tournament as one of the favourites but there have been some concerns over the experience of their squad.
Mary Earps and Fran Kirby announced their retirements before the tournament, while Millie Bright also withdrew herself from selection.
Sarina Wiegman’s side features 13 players who were part of the squad that won Euro 2022. Three players made their tournament debuts at the 2023 World Cup, while seven will do so at this summer’s tournament.
England go into the tournament on mixed form. They scored 11 goals at home combined against Portugal and Belgium, while also beating pre-tournament favourites Spain 1-0 at Wembley.
However, in the reverse games against those nations, they lost to Spain and Belgium and were held to a draw by Portugal.
England won’t have home comforts at this summer’s tournament in Switzerland. Wiegman will be keen for a big result to help build confidence before playing in the ‘group of death’ at Euro 2025.
According to the best UK betting sites, England are overwhelming favourites to beat Jamaica on Sunday.
At the time of writing, the Lionesses are priced at 1/100 to pick up the victory.
Meanwhile, a draw is available at 22/1 and a shock defeat is priced at a massive 55/1.
There is a strong chance that whatever team Sarina Wiegman selects against Jamaica will make England’s starting XI against France.
England don’t have any injury concerns at this moment in time. Lauren James has recently returned from injury so will likely not make the starting XI.
However, she could be one of many changes made at the start of the second-half.
Jamaica meanwhile are missing a handful of star players. That list includes Manchester City’s Bunny Shaw, Liverpool’s Taylor Hinds, and Tottenham midfielder Drew Spence.
England predicted lineup vs Jamaica (4-2-3-1): Hampton; Bronze, Williamson, Greenwood, Charles; Stanway, Walsh; Mead, Toone, Hemp; Russo
England should comfortably beat Jamaica in the first meeting between the two nations on Sunday.
The Lionesses have a superior advantage in squad depth. Jamaica are not helped either by the fact they are missing some of their best players including Bunny Shaw.
Jamaica will give it their best effort but it could prove to be a question of how many England score on Sunday.
Scoreline prediction: England 5-0 Jamaica
