The UEFA Champions League is back for 2024/25 and Pep Guardiola’s City will again be looking to pick up the biggest prize in European club football.

UEFA have introduced a new format for this year’s competition, with all 36 teams entering a league phase.

Each side will play eight matches, four at home and four away, against opponents that were drawn last month.

City welcome Inter, Sparta Prague, Feyenoord and Club Brugge to the Etihad Stadium, with trips to Slovan Bratislava, Sporting CP, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain already booked in.

At the end of the league phase, the top eight teams will progress directly to the Round of 16 with those placed ninth to 24th entering a play-off for the remaining eight slots.

After winning the trophy for the first time in 2023, we’re looking to reclaim our crown this time around.

You can follow all of City’s progress in the 2024/25 Champions League on mancity.com and our official app.

Here we’ll outline everything you can expect on our channels…

Pre-match press conferences

Pep Guardiola and one member of his squad will speak to the media on the day before every single Champions League assignment.

We’ll be showing those live on mancity.com and our official app, with full recaps available as soon as they’re finished.

There will also be written reviews of what was said, meaning you get all the key news from those encounters.

For selected matches, we’ll also be hearing from the opposition manager and players.

Open training

Also on the day before each game, there will be an opportunity to watch the team train.

15 minutes of the team’s session will be shown live on mancity.com and our official app before the video is available to watch back later on.

Travelling squads

For matches away from home, we’ll be publishing a travelling squad that details every member of playing staff travelling with Pep and his coaches.

That will come the day before the game, giving you the first look at who could feature for City.

Match coverage

When the match rolls around, there’s nowhere better to be than on mancity.com or our official app.

Coverage starts two hours before kick-off when text updates from our Matchday Centre begin.

That will be accompanied by our City-centric studio show Matchday Live around 80 minutes before kick-off, with fan favourites past and present looking ahead to the game.

Then Alistair Mann will talk you through all the action on our free radio commentary, while text updates continue.

At half-time and full-time it’s back to the studio for analysis and reaction to what has happened on the pitch.

Following all that, you can expect a match report, detailed reaction from Guardiola and his players as well as highlights of the match itself.

UEFA Youth League

The UEFA Youth League league phase will run alongside the men’s competition.

Played in the afternoon before the men meet in the evening, Ben Wilkinson’s charges will be going for glory themselves.

You can watch all of those matches on mancity.com and our official app with an active CITY+ subscription.
