The FIFA council laid down the criteria for qualification for the Club World Cup competition which is set to be competed in a new format in 2025.
According to a report by Calcio Napoli, the qualification for the Club World Cup for European teams will be based on the UEFA rankings for this season. The already-qualified teams for the competition are Manchester City, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Benfica, Porto and Inter.
Only the Nerazzurri have confirmed their place, and there is still one more place to fight for. It is set to be inclined towards either Juventus or Napoli’s way as things stand.
The Bianconeri have 47 points at the moment with no chances of increasing it this campaign as they are not competing in European competition. While Napoli are with 41 points, they will have to wait until the quarter-finals of the Champions League to confirm their berth in the Club World Cup. The Partenopei can derive a maximum of 5 points from the Round of 16 (two each from two victories and a bonus point for qualifying for the stage) but they must make it to the last eight.
