On Friday night we saw the Video Assistant Referee take over Manchester City’s defeat to Wolves.
It was bad then…it’s even worse now.
Three games from today’s fixtures have had the closest of close VAR decisions, with all of those matches having goals ruled out for what’s come to be known as the ‘offside armpit’.
Here are the decisions in question.
The first came earlier from Southampton’s game with Crystal Palace as Wilfried Zaha was pulled back for this indiscretion.
The second saw Teemu Pukki be given offside for this.
There was a third from Brighton’s match with Bournemouth at lunchtime, but it’s too depressing to show so we’re not even going to bother.
