How Real Madrid could deploy Jude Bellingham

As it is all but official that Real Madrid have signed Jude Bellingham, it is worth looking at how he could fit into their team. The 19-year-old is one of a number of young midfield talents that Madrid will have on their books. Eduardo Camavinga, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Fede Valverde are three midfielders currently at the club who are all 24 or under, and all four are amongst the best midfielders on the planet. So the big question is how does Carlo Ancelotti keep everyone happy?

Madrid still have two of the current best midfielders in the world in Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić. That’s six top players that will all want game time, and there are only three spots in the starting eleven. So what happens? Well, Ancelotti has already shown this season that he will bench Kroos and Modrić quite often, due to their age and saving them for especially important games.

A lot of the young players are versatile too. Camavinga can, and has, played at left-back a lot this season, far more often than he would have liked. Valverde can play right wing as well. The ability of these players to play multiple positions is a huge asset to the team and also their chances of regular game time.

Ancelotti will likely rotate quite often, and switch up the midfield trio at the start of the season, before settling on his favoured players. He likes to keep a settled starting eleven, and next season should be no different. Given the money that Real are paying for Jude Bellingham, one would expect that he will be given his chances.
