Nicolas Pepe will be announced as an Arsenal player any time now so what will the forward earn while he’s at Arsenal?

Arsenal are signing Nicolas Pepe on a five year deal, tying him to the club until 2024.

He will reportedly earn £4.6m-a-year. To put that into footballing terms, that’s £90k-a-week. The Express report he will earn around £105kpw. The S*n claim it will be more like £140k.

His agent was reportedly asking for €5m for himself and €5m in wages for Pepe which would fit with the £90kpw figure which has been the most consistent troughout this transfer saga.

£90kpw would make him the joint 10th highest earner at the club with Mesut Ozil, Pierrre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Hector Bellerin, Sead Kolasinac, Bernd Leno, Granit Xhaka, and Sokratis all earning more.

He will earn the same as Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi, if not more.

While Unai Emery preferred to be cautious when asked about Pepe’s arrival after the game against Angers on Wednesday evening, Lille’s president did no such thing.

Speaking to French media outlet RMC Sport on Wednesday, Gerard Lopez said: “He is the one who made the decision, I think it should be (confirmed) in the next 24 hours.

“It is 80m euro fixed. If we pushed this deal out a little bit longer, we could have had five or six offers of the same nature.

“In talking with Nicolas and his agents, the discussion centred on a few clubs so we preferred to focus on the projects that interested the player.”

It is expected Pepe will get the number 19 shirt.
