According to journalist Richard Cawley, the Premier League side are monitoring the Serbian following his strong debut campaign in the Championship.

The 20-year-old joined the London outfit last summer, scoring 12 times from 37 appearances in the second division as the Lions finished eighth in the table.

It was previously reported that Serie A side Lazio were also monitoring the player ahead of the summer market, so the Midlands outfit could face competition in the race to his signature.

Here we use estimated figures from Capology to look at the kind of wages Ivanovic could be set to earn if he completes a move to Wolves from Millwall this transfer window…

Wolves’ estimated wage bill

Wolves spend an estimated £1.2 million per week on their weekly salary, with the team now preparing for their eighth campaign in a row in the Premier League.

Vitor Pereira’s side finished 16th last season, but were 17 points clear of the relegation zone.

The Midlands outfit will be hoping to improve on that finish regardless of the big gap to the bottom three, with the team enjoying a solid run of form under the Portuguese coach in the final stages of the season.

Their highest paid player is currently Goncalo Guedes, with the Portuguese forward earning £90,000 per week.

However, the average weekly salary at Molineux is currently £29,048, with the likes of Santiago Bueno and Rayan Ait-Nouri earning around that last season.

The centre-forward options in Pereira’s side include HeeCchan Hwang, Sasa Kalajdzic and Jorgen Strand-Larsen.

The trio earns £70,000, £35,000 and £15,000 per week, respectively.

If Ivanovic was to sign for Wolves this summer, then a deal worth in the region of that £15,000 per week mark could be on the cards.

Strand Larsen spent the year on loan, but with an obligation to buy, so could be in line for a pay increase once his move is made permanent.

However, it’s likely Ivanovic will be lower down the pecking order at Wolves, with the Serbian potentially seen as one for the future given he is still only 20.

While he would be in line for an increase on his Millwall pay, it’s unlikely he’d be paid more than regular starters in the side just yet.

Ivanovic made the switch to Millwall last summer, arriving at the London outfit from Vojvodina.

He proved a key part of the side quite quickly after signing from his native Serbia, settling into English football quite smoothly.

Ivanovic’s 12 goals made him the club’s top scorer in the Championship, with Alex Neil’s side pushing for promotion to the Premier League.

However, despite being such an integral part of the side, he was earning an estimated £2,000 per week from his long-term contract.

That means any move to Wolves will likely see him earn a significant pay rise, even if he won’t become a top earner with the Premier League side.
