As if it was deja vu of what happened in the 2021 Apertura, Víctor Manuel Vucetich’s squad is leaving much to be desired and the Chivas fans are calling on the board to dismiss the coach.
Chivas have only earned five points through the first five games of the season, capped off by their most recent 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Club León.
The Sacred Flock did not spend a single peso on reinforcements this summer, making it obvious that they are one of the clubs most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Perhaps this is the reason why Vucetich is still at the club because, according to multiple reports, it has emerged that it would cost no less than $1m to fire the current manager.
It should be remembered that King Midas has the third-highest salary among Liga MX managers, bringing in a cool $1.8m annually, only below Santiago Solari of Club América and Monterrey’s Javier Aguirre.
Last season, Vucetich’s future came under the microscope as well. At the time, it was believed that it would have taken at least $750,000 to terminate his contract.
