On Friday, Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg officially confirmed the signing of Barcelona forward Malcom.

The 22-year-old joined on a fee believed to be about €40m + €5m in various potential bonuses and add-ons.

Thanks to FIFA’s solidarity mechanism, Corinthians will benefit once again from Malcom’s sale.

Since Malcom was with Corinthians from ages 12 to 19, the club is entitled to 2.5% of any transfer fee up to his 23rd birthday.

Therefore, Corinthians are set to make R$4.3m (€1m) from the sale after earning R$4.5m (€1.05m) from his move from Bordeaux to Barcelona last summer.

After snubbing Roma, Malcom failed to inject himself into Ernesto Valverde’s regular rotation and finished with just four goals in 24 appearances.
