An insight into the extent of the incoming absence facing Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal has on Monday been provided.
This, of course, comes fresh off the winger being condemned to a spell on the sidelines, through injury.
Lamine for his part featured from the off last night, as Barcelona welcomed Leganés to Catalunya’s capital for a La Liga clash.
En route to a shock 1-0 defeat for his side, however, the 17-year-old went to ground late in the first-half in evident distress, clutching his ankle.
Lamine ultimately managed to return to his feet to continue through the 70th minute, before being hauled off for Gavi with his side in search of an equaliser.
As per a statement released across Barca’s social media platforms on Monday afternoon, though, the Spanish international has indeed suffered an ankle injury, which is expected to keep him on the treatment table for a spell of three to four weeks:
So, just how many fixtures are the Blaugrana likely to be without their wing wizard?
An insight into as much has since been provided, by Mundo Deportivo.
Lamine has of course been ruled out this weekend against Atlético Madrid, in Barcelona’s final fixture ahead of the Christmas break.
The Catalans’ return against Barbastro in the Copa del Rey on January 4th will also come too soon for the starlet.
This means that Lamine’s first realistic comeback date would be in the Spanish Super Cup against Athletic Club on the 8th of January.
As much, though, will of course depend on the evolution of his recovery.
