This Premier League campaign has been nothing short of a disappointment for a Liverpool fan as Jurgen Klopp’s men struggled to challenge for any trophy in both domestic and European football. To make matters worse, the Reds are all but out of the top-four race which means that they will miss out on UEFA Champions League football next season.

With untimely injuries and loss of form plaguing Liverpool’s squad this season, Klopp has got a huge rebuilding job in his hands going into this summer transfer window.

However, all is not lost as Liverpool are close to ensuring European football for next season. Still, there are some concerns over whether the Merseyside club can attract the best players without Champions League football on offer at Anfield.

Currently, Liverpool find themselves 22 points behind the newly crowned Premier League champions, Manchester City. Hence, the Reds will have to strengthen their squad considerably this summer if they want to close the gap and contend for the league title next season.

How Can Liverpool Win The Premier League Title Next Season?

Jurgen Klopp is currently well-stocked in the goalkeeping department with Alisson Becker playing at a high level for the Reds week in week out. However, the Liverpool defence has come under a lot of criticism from the media this season.

With Joel Matip’s contract running out next summer, Klopp would be wise to cash in on him and bring in a suitable replacement capable of pushing Ibrahima Konate and Virgil Van Dijk for a regular starting spot at Anfield. The Reds can also benefit from recruiting a new right-back as Trent Alexander-Arnold has often been a defensive liability playing that role for the club this season.

James Milner and Naby Keita are set to leave the Merseyside outfit soon as they will become free agents this summer. Furthermore, the form of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have been far from consistent this season with Thiago Alcantara also struggling to remain injury-free.

Klopp should focus on getting at least two new midfielders if he wants his side to compete for the Premier League title next season.

On the attacking front, Roberto Firmino will leave the club soon as his contract is coming to an end. Whether Klopp chooses to go into the transfer market to replace him remains to be seen.

However, Liverpool have currently got a fearsome strikeforce with the likes of Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah all challenging for a spot in Klopp’s first team. Hence, there is no immediate need for the Reds to bring in a new attacker this summer.

The core of the team at Liverpool is still quite good. It’s a case of whether players like Nunez and Gakpo can come good next season.
