Tyler Roberts completed a loan move from Leeds United to QPR during the summer transfer window.

The Welshman had been unable to cement himself as a key part of the side during Marcelo Biela’s time as manager.

Roberts made 23 Premier League appearances in the team last season, a reduction in game time from the club’s first campaign back in the top flight the year before.

Jesse Marsch opted to allow the 24-year old a temporary exit from Elland Road in a chance to gain greater playing time in the Championship.

It has been a season of ups and downs at QPR, with Michael Beale being replaced by Neil Critchley midway through the first half of the campaign.

The London club have fallen to 14th in recent weeks, with results hitting a rough patch from before the World Cup break in November.

Here we take a look at how Roberts has got on at Loftus Road during this period…

The forward has made 18 league appearances, including 14 starts, while contributing three goals to the team’s attacking output.

Roberts did miss Wales’ World Cup campaign due to injury, which hampered his progress with QPR.

But, despite some concerns over his playing time in January which led to a potential recall by Leeds, the playmaker has found his way back into Critchley’s side in recent weeks.

Roberts had started each of the team’s last five league games before being dropped for last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town.

His last goals came in a 2-2 draw against Reading last month.

True or false: The club was founded over 150 years ago!

True False

A brace earned a draw for Rangers as they continue to battle for a top six finish, with the gap to the play-offs currently five points.

The arrival of Jamal Lowe in the January window did bring questions regarding the immediate future of Roberts and his playing time, Critchley still seems keen to utilise the Leeds forward.

A change in shape with the new manager has made it easier for Roberts to slot into the side, with a 4-2-3-1 allowing the team to play an additional attacking player.

But competition for appearances will still be fierce in the remainder of the campaign, as evidenced by Critchley’s decision to drop Roberts last weekend.

In response to a poor 3-0 loss to Hull, changes were made and that Roberts was the victim may not bode well for the rest of his time with QPR.
