Olamide Shodipo will be eager to use his loan at Sheffield Wednesday as another opportunity to force his way into the Queens Park Rangers starting XI – though consistency at the Owls is proving difficult.

That’s not really an attack on the player himself, either, with the entire Wednesday side going through a lot of peaks and troughs at the moment as they try and get towards the promotion paying places under Darren Moore in Sky Bet League One.

In a bid to find a system and starting line-up that works, Moore has regularly changed personnel around – to the frustration of some supporters – and that has meant that Shodipo has been in and out of the side.

He’s made three starts and a further five appearances from the bench so far in the third tier, with minutes in recent games on the wane it must be said.

He’s yet to score or assist this season, too, but there is a feeling among some Owls fans that if he was given a run in the side under Moore he would build some momentum and start upping that output.

Certainly, there was excitement when he joined and that should still remain because of the talent he has got but, if Moore cannot see himself using the winger as much as perhaps was predicted at the outset of this loan, then perhaps QPR will be thinking Shodipo needs to go elsewhere before breaking into the Hoops’ side.

Certainly, as things stand right now, you couldn’t see Shodipo being a Rangers regular next season.
