Jonathan de Guzman enjoyed a productive loan spell at Swansea City during what were a memorable couple of years for the club.

The midfielder arrived on loan from Villarreal in the summer of 2012, reuniting with former coach Michael Laudrup at the Liberty Stadium.

In his first season with the Swans, de Guzman scored eight goals and registered eight assists in 45 games across all competitions.

In 37 Premier League matches, he scored five goals and added six assists from midfield, but it was their League Cup campaign which caught the headlines.

Swansea won the League Cup, defeating Bradford in a 5-0 win at Wembley, with the midfielder netting a brace on the afternoon.

De Guzman returned for a second loan spell at Swansea the following season as the club subsequently earned a place in the Europa League.

The midfielder scored seven goals and added five assists in 48 games in all competitions, netting twice in the Europa League.

Swansea were unable to extend de Guzman’s stay at the Liberty after that season, joining Napoli on a four-year deal.

So what he is up to nowadays?

Well, after spending three years in Italy, de Guzman moved to Germany to join Eintracht Frankfurt, spending thee years with the Bundesliga outfit.

He now plays in Greece for OFI, and has scored five goals in a total of 22 appearances for the Greek outfit.

He’s still an admirer of Swansea, though, and posted a good luck message to the club when they were preparing for the play-offs last season.
