Abel Hernandez proved a pretty popular figure during his time at Hull City, but what is he up to now? And how is he getting on?

The Uruguayan forward joined the Tigers in 2014 for around £10m – a club record fee – from Italian side Palermo and he would spend the next four years on Humberside.

In that time, he played just shy of 100 league games for the club, and scored 36 league goals, playing in both the Premier League and Championship for the team.

He also won the club’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year in 2016, but would leave in 2018 after failing to agree a new contract with the team.

Since then, he has had a host of short spells playing for CSKA Moscow, Al Ahli, Internacional, Fluminese and, most recently, Atletico San Luis – who he currently plays for after joining them this year.

A club that plays in the top division in Mexico, Hernandez has two goals to his name from the nine league appearances he has made for the club so far, with him starting six of those matches and coming on as a sub in the other three.

His two goals helped provide away wins against CF America and Monterrey, and he’ll be looking to add to his tally as and when he can in the coming weeks.

Atletico San Luis sit 16th in an 18-club league table, meanwhile, and so he’ll be keen to try and help them up the division as much as possible in the near future, too.
