Arthur Okonkwo is a player with a lot of potential.

The 22-year-old is on the books at Premier League title chasers Arsenal and is out on loan once again this season with Wrexham in League Two.

This is his third loan move away from the Emirates Stadium. He spent the first half of last season on loan in League Two with Crewe Alexandra, where he kept nine clean sheets in 23 matches.

After excelling in Cheshire, Okonkwo then spent the second half of the season in the top flight of Austria, playing for Sturm Graz. He kept four clean sheets for them in 15 games, as they finished second, only behind RB Salzburg.

After a good season last time out, we take a look at how well Okonkwo has been doing this season for the Red Dragons.

Okonkwo impressing for promotion hopefuls Wrexham

So far this season, Okonkwo has been playing for a Wrexham side who are looking for back-to-back promotions to League One, after winning the National League last term.

The Welsh side are currently sitting in fourth place in League Two, outside the automatic promotion places by just two points - though with two games in hand on third-place Crewe.

Wrexham being one of the better teams in the division has no doubt helped Okonkwo, who has kept eight clean sheets in 20 league games for the club.

Okonkwo has had plenty of praise all season, showing to be one of the best keepers in the division since his debut for Wrexham at the end of September.

He was recently included in the Sky Bet League Two Team of the Week, after saving a penalty in the defeat to Bradford City.

However, he did also take plenty of criticism in January for his display in the FA Cup defeat to Blackburn Rovers, where he conceded four goals. He appeared to be at fault for Rovers’ second goal and took flak from supporters as a result.

But overall his stats show he has been excellent for Wrexham. He ranks in the top 4% in the league for save percentage (77.8%) and in the top 4% for goals prevented (7.29). He also averages 3.59 saves per 90, putting him in the top 7% in the division. He currently has an average rating on FotMob of 7.19.

Hard to see a way into the first team at Arsenal right now but he could be one for the future

Arsenal’s current goalkeeping situation has been a topic of debate for the entire season. David Raya is the man in between the sticks as of late, whilst their first choice goalkeeper from last season, Aaron Ramsdale, is now second choice.

As it stands, with both Raya and Ramsdale at the club, it is hard to see a way in for Okonkwo.

But with Ramsdale heavily linked with a move away from the club in order to have regular first team football, a spot to be a backup goalkeeper may be open in the near future.

At just 22, Okonkwo still has plenty of time to develop. He may not have the potential to be their no.1, but he could certainly have a part to play in the years to come.

That said, you'd imagine that the Gunners may want to see him tested at a higher level than the fourth tier before they're ready to make him their second choice.
