Milot Rashica signed for Norwich City in the summer of 2021 from Werder Bremen following the club’s promotion to the Premier League.
Daniel Farke added some exciting attacking flair to his first team squad as the Canaries looked to settle in the top flight.
The Kosovo international arrived in a deal worth a reported £9.4 million.
The now 27-year-old had been a standout player for a struggling Bremen side, who had just suffered relegation from the Bundesliga when he made the switch to Carrow Road.
Rashica featured 31 times in the Premier League in his first season with the Norfolk outfit, contributing one goal and two assists.
Farke’s side struggled for form, with Dean Smith replacing him as manager midway through the campaign.
Norwich were unable to secure their place in the division, suffering relegation with a 20th place finish in the table.
The playmaker appeared four times in the Championship before moving on loan to Galatasaray, where he helped the Turkish side lift their first league title in four years.
But Rashica’s permanent exit saw him move to Galatasaray’s rivals Besiktas in a deal worth £4.5 million, as David Wagner cleared out a number of players from the Canaries' first team squad.
Here we look at how he’s been getting on at Besiktas since making the switch last summer…
Since leaving Norwich, Rashica has featured in nine of the club’s opening 15 league games.
Six of those appearances have come as starts, with his debut arriving in a 31-minute substitute appearance in a 1-1 draw against Pendikspor.
His first start for the club came in a Europa Conference League play-off clash against Dynamo Kyiv, in which the Turkish outfit sealed a 1-0 win and 4-2 aggregate victory.
Rashica earned an assist in a substitute appearance in the first leg, with the away side scoring a dramatic 95th minute winner as a result.
The attacking midfielder’s first goal for the club was against Sivasspor in early September, with Besiktas winning 2-0 at home.
The former Norwich player settled into life in Turkey quite well, immediately making a significant impact in the team.
However, things took a turn for the worse during the November international break.
Rashica was a consistent presence in the side prior to the final round of international games of 2023.
But a muscle injury in his right leg has seen him out of action ever since.
His final appearance of 2023 so far came in a 1-0 win over Israel in a qualifying clash for the European Championship next summer.
Rashica’s goal sealed all three points for Kosovo, but he was substituted after 77 minutes with an issue, with no return yet made.
It is hoped that this is just a short-term injury, with the player initially ruled out for just two weeks.
