Footage stemming from the aftermath of La Liga giants’ Barcelona’s victory over Napoli on Tuesday night will no doubt bring a collective smile to the faces of Blaugrana supporters the world over.

Barca, of course, are fresh off booking their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

After welcoming Serie A champions Napoli to Catalunya for the 2nd leg of the Last-16 tie between the clubs, goals on the part of all of João Cancelo, Robert Lewandowski, and the aforementioned Fermín López ensured that the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a 4-2 aggregate triumph.

With as much having sealed Barcelona’s place in the last eight of European football’s elite club competition for the first time since the 2019/20 campaign, altogether jubilant celebrations were in turn kicked into gear at Montjuïc.

As Napoli’s crestfallen stars trudged off the pitch, their Barca counterparts were joined by teammates and coaching staff alike, amid wonderful post-match scenes.

And, as alluded to above, in the midst of the chaos in Catalunya’s capital, one moment in particular is no doubt set to warm the heart of many a Blaugrana supporter.

The moment in question centered on La Masia pair Fermín López, and Gavi.

Despite being a long-term injury absentee, midfielder Gavi was afforded the chance to join the rest of Xavi’s squad on the pitch on Tuesday night.

Whilst his teammates repeatedly jumped up and down in front of the home crowd, however, the Spanish international was left with little choice but to remain grounded, still no doubt in considerable discomfort.

Upon realising as much, though, Fermín quickly made a beeline for Gavi, lifting the 19-year-old up into his arms to bounce alongside his teammates.
