How Carlo Ancelotti’s team selection has changed at Real Madrid | OneFootball

Carlo Ancelotti makes an average of four changes to the Real Madrid starting eleven from one game to the next, as reported by AS.

In total, in eight matches he has already made 32 changes to his starting line-up. In every game, he has introduced at least two changes from the previous match. Last season, before Real Madrid clinched the league title, the average number of changes in the starting eleven from one game to the next was less than three.

The game in which Ancelotti made the most changes to his starting eleven was against Mallorca. He made six changes to the side that beat Celtic (0-3) in a 4-1 win over Javier Aguirre’s side. Two of the changes in the league game against Mallorca were forced by injuries to regular started Eder Militao and Karim Benzema, who picked up injuries in Scotland. In the next game, against RB Leipzig, the Italian changed his line-up again, making five changes ahead of the 2-0 win over the Bundesliga outfit.

Ancelotti has yet to repeat his starting eleven in any of Madrid’s nine matches so far this season. His typical eleven, is the one from the Champions League final in Paris, except for the introduction of Aurélien Tchouaméni in place of Casemiro: Courtois – Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Mendy – Modric, Tchouaméni, Kroos – Valverde, Benzema and Vinicius. This is the eleven he started against Celtic.
