Desire Doue introduced himself to the casual football fan during the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Liverpool. Anyone who didn’t know about the 19-year-old saw his talent.
Moreover, despite his age, Doue showed he could be cold-blooded in high-pressure situations by scoring the final penalty kick in the shootout to send PSG to the quarterfinals.
The Parisians are earning praise for making a shrewd move for the young Frenchman. PSG completed the move with Stade Rennais for Doue, as the Ligue 1 leaders paid €50 million, plus performance-based add-ons.
Bayern Munich was the club keen on Doue for a move outside of France but there was another side that had a chance to land the youngster.

According to Sport, Barcelona had the chance to sign Doue when he was still at Stade Rennais. The club reportedly gave serious thought to bringing him in last summer after receiving positive reports from Deco.
The teenager was seen as having a “Barca profile,” with his left-footed playmaking and ability to create an imbalance in attack and defense, making him an explosive and exciting prospect.
Doue was offered to Barcelona around the same time their pursuit of Nico Williams intensified. However, due to financial constraints, a move was ultimately ruled out. Instead, Doue joined PSG, where he has impressed, even though he hasn’t been a regular starter under manager Luis Enrique.
