An insight into the sentiment in the Barcelona dressing room on the back of the club’s defeat at the hands of Atlético Madrid has on Sunday been provided.
Barca, of course, closed out their schedule for the calendar year last night.
This came by way of a crunch top-of-the-table La Liga showdown with the aforementioned Atlético Madrid.
When all was said and done, Hansi Flick’s troops found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result, owing to a last-gasp strike on the part of Alexander Sørloth.
Now off their throne atop the Spanish top-flight, and with just one win in seven in the league to their names, it would in turn not come as much of a surprise to hear that Barcelona’s stars were left feeling altogether forlorn post-match on Saturday.
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then the Blaugrana, it would appear, managed to take some positives away from the defeat.
This comes amid the understanding that Hansi Flick’s players were encouraged by the level of their performance against Atléti.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘The points went to the capital, but the players left with their self-esteem raised for having left behind the vulgar recent games seen against Las Palmas and Leganés at Montjuïc.’
