The Houston Dynamo have re-signed breakout wingback Griffin Dorsey ahead of their 2024 season. The 24 year old Dorsey was a Generation Adidas MLS SuperDraft selection by Toronto FC back in 2019. He was initially drafted and played as a winger by Toronto, never really working out. He bounced a bit back and forth between Toronto FC and Toronto FC II. He would finish his time within the Toronto system with 27 games played, 1 goal, and 5 assists combined between TFC and TFC II. Dorsey would be waived by Toronto FC in the summer of 2021, shortly picked up by the Houston Dynamo. In just two and a half seasons with Houston, Dorsey has thrived! He has moved back from a winger to a wingback, found confidence, and has been able to impact the game at multiple levels.

Dorsey now has 82 games played for the Houston Dynamo in his career. In those games he has 8 goals, 8 assists, and was a major help in raising their 2023 U.S. Open Cup title. I expect to see Dorsey to be the starting rightback/right wingback for Houston going into the 2024 campaign. His 2023 season was an absolute explosion onto the scene for him. Now… the MLS world needs to see another strong and consistent year long performance from him down in Texas.
