Houssem Aouar to join Al-Ittihad for close to €20 million | OneFootball

After only one year, Houssem Aouar is ready to part ways with Roma.

The midfielder taken on a free transfer last year from Olympique Lyon by the then sporting director Tiago Pinto, is ready to move to Saudi Arabia to Al-Ittihad.

In Serie A he was unable to establish himself, and found little space in Roma’s midfield despite the ups and downs of the department.

Neither Mourinho nor De Rossi were willing to bet on him due to his technical (and physical) limitations: good footwork, but too much discontinuity, little effort and almost never decisive.

Out of 38 Serie A matches, he started only 9 times, also due to injuries to his adductor and his absence in January for the Africa Cup of Nations.

According to Il Messaggero, the deal with Al-Ittihad is imminent and can be closed today.

Roma will earn close to €20 million for Aouar.

The capital club will receive €15 million in fixed fee plus add-ons.
