‘Hopefully we can talk’ – Ex-Chelsea star makes unlikely plea for Stamford Bridge return under Poch | OneFootball

Former Chelsea star Oscar has admitted it would be a “dream” to return to Stamford Bridge six years after he left the club.

The playmaker spent five years at Chelsea between 2012 and 2017, contributing 38 goals and 36 assists in 203 games for the Blues.

He won the Premier League title under Jose Mourinho in 2014/15, and won the League Cup and Europa League in his time at Stamford Bridge.

Oscar left for Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG (now Shanghai Port FC) in 2016 for £67m and has remained their since, racking up an insane 101 assists in 184 games, adding 53 goals.

The now 31-year-old also won 51 caps for Brazil but hasn’t played for the national team since he left Chelsea.

And he’s now told talkSPORT that he would love to return to the Bridge.

‘It’s of course a dream to come back to Chelsea,’ Oscar said. ‘Everyone knows the passion that I have for this club.

‘I have a lot of good memories from there… I still have dreams to play for this team. So if I can come back to Europe or to Chelsea, then hopefully we can talk.’

He can’t be any worse than Chelsea’s forward options have been this season, with the numerous and expensive new signings doing very little in a truly dismal campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly agreed to become the club’s new permanent manager, and Oscar has backed the Argentine to right the ship at Chelsea.

Oscar added: “He’s a good coach, he works very hard and Pochettino has a strong team, they play like a team normally.

“Maybe this can help Chelsea for next season. I think he will help a lot. I think the players need to show the coach that they want to stay at Chelsea, they want to fight for everything.

“When you play for Chelsea, the players have shown it’s not easy. It has pressure, you need to play to win. When you don’t win, it’s more difficult and they feel this.”
