Hull City are going to be one of the most interesting clubs to monitor in the Championship this summer as they navigate their first summer transfer window under Acun Ilicali’s ownership.

The Tigers have given themselves a job to do in looking to replace George Honeyman in central midfield, the 27-year-old was confirmed as a Millwall player this afternoon after three seasons at the MKM Stadium.

Honeyman was a driving force in dragging Hull away from the relegation zone under Grant McCann last season, but the club will be confident that they can replace what he offers with some of the players they are eyeing up.

Vedat Muriqi could be the Tigers’ Tom Eaves replacement, as per HullLive, the Kosovan striker was linked with a move to the MKM Stadium in January but in the end joined Real Mallorca on loan for the rest of the season.

Finances may be a stumbling block to a permanent transfer, with Muriqi still having three seasons remaining on his deal at Lazio, but a loan move may not be out of the question just yet.

Sheffield Wednesday are closing on the permanent capture of Mallik Wilks, as per YorkshireLive, to bolster their League One automatic promotion bid.

The 23-year-old showed his class in flashes as the Tigers stabilised in the second tier last season, but he did appear to fall down the pecking order slightly after Shota Arveladze took the reins.

Literally 99% of Hull City supporters should be scoring 28/28 on this Tigers quiz – Can you?
