Michail Antonio is recovering well and could well be back home for Christmas.

The Hammers striker was involved in a devastating car accident on 8th December, which meant he had to be airlifted to hospital for vital surgery on a broken leg – something that has rocked West Ham undoubtedly.

Antonio is the clubs record Premier League goalscorer, having been in east London for a decade next year – an incredible feat for a player who made it via the non-league route of football.

There is understandably a lot of concern surrounding the player and his recovery now, with many question marks over whether fans would see him in action for West Ham again – however an update from ExWHUEmployee suggests that a plan is already in place.

Reporting on The West Ham Way, Ex advised that Antonio is hopeful of being back home for Christmas next week, as the club set out a rough guideline as to when we might expect to see the forward back in the claret & blue.

“Antonio is improving, he might be home for Christmas, but it’s a 7/12 month recovery from here”.

That is a quote from a source at the club, which paints a more positive outlook from the one that was originally felt – especially when images of the wreckage surfaced online, showing Antonio was lucky to escape alive.
