Bild reports that Hoffenheim are interested in Hannover 96 left-back Derrick Köhn as they look for a starting left-back for the squad.
Last season, Hoffenheim’s left-back was Angelino who was on loan from RB Leipzig, however, the 26-year-old is seen as too expensive for the club. Instead, they look to Köhn who is significantly cheaper than the Spaniard.
Köhn has a clause in his contract at Hannover that means he can leave the club for €3m but the clause is only valid in 2024. If the 24-year-old is to leave Hannover this summer then Hoffenheim will have to pay close to €6m for the left-back.
However, Hoffenheim will face competition from Valencia who have also shown interest in Köhn. Regardless of where he goes, Köhn would like to take the next step in his career.
Köhn joined Hannover last summer from Willem II for €500k, he went on to make 36 appearances for the club scoring five and assisting six.
