Sky Germany reports that Hoffenheim is looking to boost its defence options this summer after a ligament injury to centre-back Ozan Kabak.
Kabak is currently recovering from a ligament injury which will keep him out for the rest of the year and so Hoffenheim are looking at alternatives for the Turkish international.
One is Wolfsburg’s Moritz Jenz, who has a contract at the club until 2027. Talks between Wolfsburg and Jenz have already taken place and the German can imagine a move to the PreZero Arena.
The other defender is Liverpool’s Sepp van den Berg, again, Hoffenheim has already held initial talks with the Dutch defender who spent last season on loan at Mainz 05. However, Stuttgart have shown an interest in van den Berg as have Mainz and Wolfsburg. The other issue is that Liverpool is demanding around €20m for the 22-year-old, who is expected to play a role during pre-season under new head coach Arne Slot.
