Hoffenheim will pay FC Zurich, Breitenreiter’s current team, a reported €300,000 to get their coach.

Following a successful spell at TSV Havelse, Breitenreiter was appointed as head coach of Paderborn in 2013 before roles at Schalke and Hannover. After two years out of coaching, the 48-year-old led FC Zürich to the Swiss Super League title this season after being appointed in 2021.
