Hoffenheim and Freiburg interested in Georginio Rutter

Kicker reports that Hoffenheim and Freiburg are both interested in bringing Georginio Rutter back to the Bundesliga on a season-long loan.

Before Rutter joined Leeds from Hoffenheim in January, a verbal agreement was reached between Rutter and Leeds meaning that he could leave on loan if he could find himself a club that would take on his salary. This is similar to what has happened with defenders, Robin Koch (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Maximilian Wöber (Borussia Mönchengladbach).

However, this verbal agreement was agreed with former sporting director Victor Orta, who has now left the club and joined Sevilla, meaning any move could prove slightly more tricky.

Rutter could ultimately return to Hoffenheim as they look for an attacker who does have different qualities to the 21-year-old but due to the player’s individual talent the lack of desired traits can be overlooked and a loan can not be ruled out.

While Freiburg are also said to be interested in the striker as they look to once again boost their attacking options after signing Chukwubuike Adamu from Red Bull Salzburg earlier this summer.
