Promotion-chasing North West Women’s League Division 1 North side Accrington Stanley have been given training kits for their coaches and welfare staff by HML Recycling.

Stanley have had a great season so far, featuring six straight wins and a spell at the top of the table. They also provide a motivating and welcoming environment for more than 200 women and girls to play football and train regularly.

This would not be possible without a large amount of volunteers, staff and coaches. To show his appreciation for the great work they do, Stuart Rogan of HML Recycling in Accrington has generously donated a full set of kit including training jackets for all the coaches and welfare staff, to keep them warm and dry at the side of the pitch.

Sami Smithson, Chair of Accrington Stanley Women, said: “We’re really grateful to Stuart and HML for providing full matching kit for our coaching team and welfare officers including jackets. Not only are they much needed, with two fixtures called off already this year for bad weather – they also mean that we can represent the club when we go to fixtures with smart matching kit.

“Stuart has also volunteered many hours himself, helping grassroots sport across Hyndburn over the past 30+ years therefore it was an appropriate way to show his support to those facilitating and supporting sport, like he did for many years. We are really grateful for Stuart’s support especially when he comes to cheer us on in all weathers!

“All sponsorship is very welcomed, and we will do our best to make you proud in return! We’re doing well and really pulling together as a team. We’re looking forward to the second half of the season!”

Accrington Stanley are next in action on Sunday 7 January, when they host Radcliffe at the Stanley Sports Hub, kick off 2pm.
