Ozan Kokcu, brother of Benfica and former Feyenoord midfielder Orkun, has signed for HJK Helsinki on a multi-year contract.
The Azerbaijan international, who also previously played among Feyenoord’s youth ranks, scored 12 goals for FC Eindhoven in the Dutch second tier last season and joins the Finnish champions for an undisclosed fee.
Kokcu joined FC Eindhoven from Telstar in the summer of 2022. In his first season, he made 35 appearances, scored six goals and reached the KKD Play-Offs. Last season, the Dutchman with Azerbaijani nationality was crowned top scorer of the Blue and Whites with 12 goals. In total, Kokcu played 78 times for FC Eindhoven and scored a total of 19 goals and registered 4 assists.
Technical Manager Marc Scheepers spoke of the midfielder’s exit:
“Ozan has been passionately committed to the club for two seasons. He was always ready for the club and has managed to make great strides in two seasons. Ozan is ready for a new challenge and we are happy that he has found that challenge. We wish him much success at his new club.”
Kokcu himself, spoke on the move:
