Bruno Fernandes has become just the second player in history to win a third Premier League Goal of the Month award.

The Portuguese claims the prize for his volley in Manchester United’s win over Burnley in September.

In doing so, he joins Andros Townsend as just the second player to win the award three times.


There was more awards history made on Friday too, as Ange Postecoglou became the first manager in history to win the Manager of the Month award for his two first months in England’s top flight.

For the second month running, Tottenham claimed the Premier League Player of the Month and Manager of the Month awards.

Postecoglou’s claims the September award after three wins (against Burnley, Sheffield United and Liverpool) and a draw (at Arsenal).


The Premier League Player of the Month award went to Son Heung-min.

The league leaders saw James Maddison win the accolade for August and it remains in N17 with Son awarded for an impressive September.

Son scored six Premier League goals in four appearances in September, netting a hat-trick against Burnley before two crucial equalisers in the north London derby and another in Tottenham’s win over Liverpool.

It is the fourth time the South Korean has won the award, with only six players ever claiming it more times, and the his first win since October 2020.
