Alejandro Garnacho has given his “total priority” to Chelsea, and talks have taken place on the player side according to Fabrizio Romano.
Chelsea have been busy revamping their attack this summer, and have signed Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
The Blues are currently locked in negotiations with RB Leipzig for Xavi Simons, and the expectation is a deal will be reached for the 22-year-old.
If the Blues sign Simons, he’d be their fourth attacking signing of the window, and Chelsea are said to want eight or nine attacking options to rotate between next season.
However, the Blues look like they are eyeing up a fifth attacking signing, with links to Manchester United’s Garnacho getting stronger.
Garnacho is believed to want to join Chelsea, and his priority is to remain in the Premier League despite interest from Europe.

Chelsea are thought to not want to pay more than £30m, and Garnacho has fuelled speculation by liking a social media post linking him with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues aren’t thought to be in a rush to move for the 21-year-old, and Romano has provided a further update on the situation.
He took to X.com and said:
“Alejandro Garnacho has given his total priority to Chelsea, talks took place on player side.
“No negotiations yet with Man United as price will be key factor.
“Timing of the deal: not expected to be imminent, can take some time with Chelsea focused on outgoings + Xavi.”
Whilst a move for Garnacho isn’t imminent, Chelsea are working hard to complete the signing of Simons, with negotiations said to be at an advanced stage.
Simons wasn’t part of Leipzig’s squad for their pre-season friendly on Saturday, and he trained away from the rest of the group on Friday.

Chelsea are said to be close to an agreement on personal terms, with Leipzig thought to want a total package of £60m.
The expectation is a deal will be reached, and Simons who can play both on the left and as a number ten would be an excellent addition to Enzo Maresca’s squad.
