France star Kylian Mbappé remains one of the top players in world football, but it is safe to say that the former PSG striker has not been at his best for Real Madrid since his summer arrival.
Still capable of single-handedly dictating terms on the pitch, the real Mbappé may be standing up tonight in the early minutes of Madrid's away clash at Atalanta, which the 15-time champions need a result in.
Mbappé opened the scoring in the 10th minute of action at Gewiss Stadium against a very good Gian Piero Gasperini-led outfit, with the Frenchman expertly shedding his marker before dispatching his effort past Marco Carnesecchi.
To the moment even sweeter, it was a 50th Champions League goal for the 25-year-old hitman, making him the second youngest player to hit the mark behind Lionel Messi.
However, the night would unfortunately turn sour for the Spanish giants after Mbappé was subbed off before half-time with an apparent injury.
Ultimately replaced by Rodrygo, questions will immediately be asked regarding how Carlo Ancelotti would fill the void should the mercurial Frenchman face any considerable time on the touchline.
