Transfermarkt.de reports that rising Kosovo international Fisnik Asllani has decided to remain with his current Bundesliga club. The 22-year-old recently returned to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim following an immensely successful loan stint with Elversberg in the 2. Bundesliga. Several top flight sides were interested in acquiring one of German football’s hottest current commodities.
The Transfermarkt report claims that a conversation with TSG head coach Christian Ilzer convinced Asllani to remain in Kraichgau. Ilzer specifically assured Asllani that he would play an important role in the team during the upcoming campaign. Asllani’s incredible season with Elversberg (18 league goals and nine assists) has enabled him to raise his estimated market value from €1.5m to €8m.
Transfermarkt has no specifics to offer up on the details of the German-Kosovar’s new deal at this time. It does nevertheless seem as if the TSG administrative team – under quite a bit of fire in the German press – have at least scored a major success with Asllani.
The youngster’s contract was due to expire at the end of next season. The Sinsheimers have thus avoided – as was regrettably the case with midfield talent Tom Bischof – losing a highly valued young talent on a free transfer.
Hoffenheim were also able to outpace regional rivals VfB Stuttgart and sign young German prospect Deniz Zeitler earlier today.
