It was a Jekyll and Hyde performance from Celtic on Sunday as they came from behind to win at Fir Park. The Hoops now go into the midweek card just two points behind Rangers, who are also in action on Wednesday, but it could have been much worse had it not been for Adam Idah.

Brendan Rodgers side were passive in the first half and went in at the break 1-0 down after an excellent strike from Blair Spittal, which was tee’d up by 17-year-old Lennon Miller. Change was required and Rodgers used the break to replace Kyogo for his compatriot Idah. The big striker equalised with a towering header as Celtic grew into the game.

Despite the equaliser coming from an impressive Greg Taylor cross, the introduction of Yang for Nicolas Kuhn made Celtic extremely dangerous down the right. It was this link up, involving Alistair Johnston continuing inside that resulted in Idah netting the eventual winner. O’Riley played it to Yang, who spotted the underlapping AJ, who cut the ball into Idah’s path which allowed him to stab the ball beyond Liam Kelly.

Celtic made sure of the three points after Luis Palma netted from a square pass from Yang to finish the game 3-1 and send the supporters home happy (and relieved!).

The Scottish Champions host Dundee on Wednesday night while theRangers travel to Rugby Park. Rodgers will be hoping his pal Derek McInnes can take something from Rangers, as they did in the opening game of the season, and as they have against Celtic at Rugby Park this year.
