FC Bayern have reached an agreement with coach Vincent Kompany – but now they are negotiating the transfer fee for the Belgian. Munich are apparently not prepared to pay the sum demanded by Kompany’s current club Burnley.

How much will FC Bayern have to pay for its favourite coach Vincent Kompany? The Belgian still has a contract with his current club Burnley FC until 2028, which is why the English club can demand a transfer fee for Kompany.

Burnley are apparently asking €20 million for the 38-year-old. According to Sky, the Bayern management have decided that they will not fulfil this demand. According to the report, negotiations between the two clubs are continuing.

According to Sky, Kompany is waiting for the green light from Burnley bosses for the transfer. The coach is also not yet in Munich.

Belgian transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri had previously reported that Kompany was already in the Bavarian capital to introduce himself and his coaching team to the Bayern supervisory board in person.

Is the Bayern coaching search coming to an end?

The Munich management are apparently confident that the signing of Kompany will bring the club’s long search for a coach to an end. After announcing in February that the club and coach Thomas Tuchel were to part company, the club had received numerous rejections from coaching candidates.

Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann, Ralf Rangnick, Oliver Glasner and Roger Schmidt were all unwilling or unable to become coach of the German record champions. Attempts by the bosses around sporting director Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund to convince Tuchel to stay with the Munich club also failed.

Now Kompany, who was relegated from the English Premier League with Burnley this season, could take over the coaching position at Bayern.
