Tottenham forward Heung-min Son has admitted that he was “really upset” with his first half performance against Chelsea on Saturday.
The South Korea international missed a host of chances in the opening 45 minutes, but that didn’t matter as the north London side went into the break with a comfortable 2-0 lead.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man then scored a stunning solo goal to kill the game, but Son has conceded that he was furious with himself for wasting so many golden opportunities before his fine strike.
“Scoring goals for Tottenham Hotspur makes me always happy,” he told BT Sport.
“We deserved to win, I had a lot of chances to score and I was really upset after the first half, but my team-mates helped me.
“And if you play until the end of 90 minutes it’s possible to have more chances.”
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are up to third with that win and now face a must-win match with Inter in the Champions League.
