Former Liverpool striker Emile Heskey believes JĂźrgen Klopp should consider himself blessed to have so many brilliant attacking options to choose from.
The goalscoring form of summer signing of Diogo Jota has prompted much debate about Roberto Firminoâs role at Anfield, with some suggesting the Brazilian may have to get used to being on the bench.
But after Jota and Firmino both scored in Sundayâs win over Leicester, Heskey expects both strikers to play together often and Klopp to deploy a front four again in the future.
âItâs a great headache to have isnât it?â Heskey exclusively tells OneFootball.
âYouâve got players in form, Firmino got his goal and you saw what it meant it to everyone. Everyone celebrated with him and itâs great that they appreciate him for what he is and what he does.
âThe thing with Jota thatâs phenomenal is, you come into such a big club under so much pressure, but you can still perform and still produce and make the team a bit better as well in the way that you play.
âI thought JĂźrgen would possibly take Firmino out of the firing line a little bit for a couple of weeks and just give him an opportunity to have a little bit of breathing space because a lot of attention is on him and itâs not down to his ability or the way heâs playing, itâs just down to that one thing â his goals. But heâs carried on and heâs got his goal and I think he brings a lot to the plate.
âTheyâve got the ability to play the four. I think a three suits them better but at least youâve got that flexibility to do it and they can rotate the four as well, because Firmino can actually drop into the No10 role with Jota playing a little bit higher, or vice-versa. Itâs just about getting in those areas to exploit the defences.â
Heskey joined Liverpool in an ÂŁ11m move from Leicester in March 2000 and went on to score 60 goals for what he says is âthe biggest club in the worldâ.
And after the Reds moved to their new ÂŁ50m training facility in Kirkby last week, their former striker says he still has fond memories of his days spent at Melwood.
âYeah it was wonderful,â he says.
âI was actually there when they were still at the old one and then when the new one got built so it was great to see the transition from that historical building to a new building, and now moving away and going to another one.
âItâs just a transition isnât it? Itâs just showing where the club is going and it takes time to get to where they are. Now theyâve got this state-of-the-art facility and some of the best players in the world.â
But is he jealous of the facilities and equipment available to the clubâs current players?
âNo because if you look at the facilities we had at Melwood it was state-of-the-art,â he says.
âWe had swimming pools, jacuzzis. Everything they have in there, we had in that one. Probably not on the same scale but we didnât need anything more.
âAt times you can have too much stuff!â
